Troubleshooting Procedures

Use the following procedures to troubleshoot your system. If you have followed all
of the procedures below and still need assistance, refer to the 'Technical Support
Procedures' and/or 'Returning Merchandise for Service' section(s) in this chapter.
Always disconnect the AC power cord before adding, changing or installing any
hardware components.

Before Power On

1.
Check that the onboard power LED is lit (DP3 on the motherboard).
2.
Make sure that the power connector is connected to your power supply.
3.
Make sure that no short circuits exist between the motherboard and chassis.
4.
Disconnect all cables from the motherboard, including those for the keyboard
and mouse.
5.
Remove all add-on cards.
6.
Install a CPU and heatsink (making sure it is fully seated) and connect the
internal (chassis) speaker and the power LED to the motherboard. Check all
jumper settings as well.
7.
Use the correct type of onboard CMOS battery as recommended by the
manufacturer. To avoid possible explosion, do not install the CMOS battery
upside down.

No Power

1.
Make sure that no short circuits exist between the motherboard and the
chassis.
2.
Verify that all jumpers are set to their default positions.
3.
Check that the 115V/230V switch on the power supply is properly set.
