This feature allows you enjoy Digital sound when the equipment
with Digital output is connected to the television.

Press the MENU button.
Result:
The main menu is displayed.

Move the joystick up or down until the Sound is selected.
Result:
The options available in the Sound group are displayed.

Move the joystick right.

Move the joystick up or down until the Ext. Audio is selected.
Move the joystick right.
Result:
The Ext. Audio menu is displayed.

Select the required output (EXT1, EXT2, EXT3 or DVD) by moving the
joystick up or down.

Select the option (Analog, Optical or Coaxial) by moving the
joystick left or right.
N The Optical and Coaxial options are for digital signal inputs,
such as the Dolby Digital (5.1ch), Dolby Prologic (4ch), DTS,
or MPEG.
N The Analog option can not receive the signals above.
Although the DVD is connected, you can hear only Stereo or
Prologic type sounds. (For detailed input connections, see
your DVD title.)

When you are satisfied with the settings, press the joystick button
(
) to confirm.

Press the MENU button.
Result:
The options available in the Sound group are displayed
again.

Move the joystick up or down until the Audio Out is selected.
For information about connection of audio outputs, refer to
"Connecting to the Audio Outputs" on page 43.

Select the required option (Volume or Fixed) by moving the joystick
left or right.
N If you want to adjust the volume level with the volume control
on the TV or external amplifier, set to Volume.
N If you set to Fixed...
- You can adjust the volume level with the volume control on
the audio amplifier. And the Int. mute is set to On
automatically, and you can not select it.
- The volume control buttons (MUTE,
television and remote control do not work.

Move the joystick up or down until the Int. mute is selected.
If you set to On, no sound outputs of all internal and external
speakers.
When the Audio Out is set to Volume, you can select the
Int. mute and control it.

When you have finished, press the TV button to return to normal
viewing.
