Grounding Instructions
This appliance must be grounded. If it should malfunction or break
down, grounding provides a safe path of least resistance for
electrical current, reducing the risk of electric shock. The cord for
this appliance has an equipment-grounding conductor and a
grounding plug. It must only be plugged into an electrical outlet
that is properly installed and grounded in accordance with all
local codes and ordinances.
DANGER:
Improper connection of the equipment-grounding
conductor can result in a risk of electrical shock. Check with a
qualified electrician or service person if you are in doubt as to
whether the outlet is grounded. If not, have a proper outlet installed
by a qualified electrician.
This appliance is for use on a nominal 120-volt circuit. It has a
grounding plug similar to the example shown. Make sure the
appliance is connected to an outlet with the same configuration as
the plug. No adapter should be used with this appliance.

Vacuum Shutdown
If the vacuum becomes overloaded, which could occur by sucking
up a large obstruction or on extremely thick carpet, the electronics
are designed to shut down the vacuum. If this happens, the vacuum
will be turned off. To reset the vacuum turn the unit off, wait 5
seconds, and then turn it back on. If it shuts down again there may
be a large obstruction in the vacuum. See page 6 for the steps on
clearing a blockage.
