Changing Messaging Settings

1. From the Home screen, tap
2. Press Menu > Settings.

Messaging.
Check to delete older messages in a thread when messaging memory or thread limits are reached.
Uncheck to keep all messages. You may need to manually delete messages if the messaging memory
limit is reached.
Tap to set the number of messages to save per message thread. When the limit is reached, older
messages are deleted if 'Delete old messages' is checked.

Tap to open a window where you can read and delete text messages stored on your SIM card. (Note: you
will only have SIM messages if you sent text messages while using your SIM card in another phone.)
Uncheck to download only the heading of multimedia messages. You will need to tap the MMS message
heading and manually download each MMS message. You may want to use this feature when roaming
or when connected to a slow data network.
Tap to set MMS creation mode for compose message. You can select Restricted or Free.
Check to be notified whenever you receive a new message.
Select or de-select a ringtone to sound when you receive new message notifications.
Set the phone to vibrate every time you receive a new message notification, only in Silent mode, or never.
Select to turn on the display backlight for 3 seconds after a new notification.
