Typically, the seat assembly includes the armrests, seatback, and seat base. If your power chair is equipped with a Specialty Seat, Synergy Seat, or Synergy TRU-Balance Power Positioning System, refer to the information provided in separate manuals. WARNING! BATTERIES AND CHARGING The Quantum 600 uses two long-lasting, 12-volt, deep-cycle batteries. These batteries are sealed and maintenance free. Since they are sealed, there is no need to check the electrolyte (fluid) level. Deep-cycle batteries are designed to handle a longer and deeper discharge. - Page 30 3. Give the batteries another full charge of 8 to 14 hours and operate your power chair again. The batteries will now perform at over 90% of their potential. 4. M A I N T E N A N C E CARE AND MAINTENANCE Your Quantum 600 is a sophisticated power chair. Like any motorized vehicle, it requires routine maintenance checks. You can perform some of these checks, but others require assistance from your Quantum Rehab Specialist. Preventive mainte- nance is very important. - Page 49 ! Ensure that all parts of the controller system are securely fastened to your power chair. Do not overtighten any screws. ! Check for proper tire inflation. There should be 35 psi (2.4 bar) in each tire. If a tire does not hold air, see your Quantum Rehab Specialist for replacement of the tube.
- Page 50 Your power chair must be disposed of according to applicable local and national statutory regulations. Contact your local waste disposal agency or Quantum Rehab Specialist for information on proper disposal of power chair packaging, metal frame components, plastic components, electronics, and batteries.
