I Receiving a direct mode call
You can receive calls from the selected group and the scanned groups in the
selected channel. Even if scanning is not on, you can receive calls from groups
that are on the same frequency and that have been defined as open groups
(network service).
When you receive a direct mode call,
and the speaker's number or name and
the name of the channel and group are displayed. If the speaker's number or name
is not available,
Call
is displayed.
If the connection to the transmitting radio is lost, the note
Connection lost
is
displayed.

Responding to a direct mode call

Press and hold the PTT key while the channel's and group's names are displayed.
You can queue for your turn to talk during a call by pressing and holding the PTT
key. A queuing tone is played while you are in the queue. You can start speaking
after a short tone is played and
appears on the display. You can stop queuing
by releasing the PTT key.

Voice override

With voice override (network service), you can override the communication in the
group and avoid the need to queue for your turn to speak. If you have a right to
use voice override, the text next to
is
Override
when the radio receives a
direct mode call.
