Selecting direct mode channels and groups

Up to 60 direct mode channels can be stored in your radio's memory. Up to three
groups can be stored for each channel. To select a channel, turn the group selector
until the desired channel is displayed. Wait until
Group selected
is displayed and
the radio plays a short tone. If voice feedback is activated, the radio plays the
index number of the channel when you turn the group selector.
When you select a channel, the first group (A) is automatically selected. Pressing
the back key switches between the second and the third group (B and C) on the
same channel, and pressing and holding the back key selects the first group (A) on
the channel. If voice feedback is activated, the radio plays the index name (A, B or
C) of the group when you use the back key.
You can also select the channel and group with

to access the list of channels. Scroll to the desired channel, press
Groups
and select the desired group.

Scanning the groups on a channel

Direct mode scanning allows you to receive calls made to the other groups on the
same channel. Press
Menu
and select Settings,
Direct mode settings
and
Direct
mode scanning
and select
On
or Off.
You can also activate and deactivate direct mode scanning in the fast menu. Press

Scanning on

by pressing and holding
