Problem
Timer does not operate.
Remote control does not
operate
Possible causes
• Time has not been set.
• The same time setting has been
made as start and end times for
Wake-up Timer or timer-based
recording*.
• The Sleep Timer is being used at
the start time set for the Wake-up
Timer or timer-based recording*.
• Batteries in remote control are
exhausted.
• Remote sensor is too close to a
fluorescent lamp.
• Obstacle exists between the
remote control and the remote
sensor.
Corrective actions
• Set the time (see page 17).
• The Wake-up Timer or timer-based
recording* will not operate if the start
and end time settings are the same.
• The Wake-up Timer will not operate if
the start time arrives before the
system's power is shut off by the Sleep
Timer or before the end of timer-based
recording*.
• Insert new batteries in the remote
control.
• Move the remote sensor farther away
from the fluorescent lamp.
• Remove the obstacle.
* This function is available only when the MD recorder
(sold separately) is connected to this system.
• Abnormal functioning of this unit may be caused by
static electricity or other external interference. To
restore normal operation, turn the power off and then
on again, or unplug the AC power cord and then plug it
in again.
• If the system's power cord has been unplugged, the
time must be reset (see page 17).
• The audio output may be affected when a portable
telephone is used near the CD/Receiver System. In
such cases, avoid using a portable telephone near the
system.
