Important
Read this user manual carefully before you use the
appliance and save it for future reference.

This appliance is not intended for use by persons
(including children) with reduced physical, sensory or
mental capabilities, or lack of experience and
knowledge, unless they have been given supervision
or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a
person responsible for their safety.

Children should be supervised to ensure that they
do not play with the appliance.
-
Only use the powerplug supplied.
-
The powerplug transforms 100-240 volts to a safe
low voltage of less than 24 volts.
-
The powerplug contains a transformer. Do not cut
off the powerplug to replace it with another plug, as
this causes a hazardous situation.
-
Do not use a damaged powerplug.
-
If the powerplug is damaged, always have it replaced
with one of the original type in order to avoid a
hazard.
-
Charge and store the shaver at a temperature
between 5°C and 35°C.
-
Do not recharge the shaver in a closed pouch.
-
Make sure the powerplug does not get wet.
-
Always unplug the shaver before cleaning it under
the tap.
-
The appliance complies with the internationally
approved IEC safety regulations and can be safely
cleaned under the tap (Fig. 1).
Be careful with hot water. Always check if the water is not
too hot, to prevent your hands from getting burnt.
Electromagnetic fields (EMF)
This Philips appliance complies with all standards
regarding electromagnetic fields (EMF). If handled
properly and according to the instructions in this user
manual, the appliance is safe to use based on scientific
evidence available today.
Charging
Make sure the appliance is switched off before you start
to charge it.
To prevent the battery from going flat during shaving, you
can also charge the shaver in between shaves, even if the
battery is not completely empty yet. This will not damage
the battery.
Charging normally takes approx. 8 hours.
Do not leave the appliance connected to the mains for
more than 24 hours.
Charge indications
Charging
When you start charging the empty shaver the
,
battery symbol lights up (Fig. 2).

Battery running low

HQ6075/HQ6073: When the battery is running low,
,
the red battery symbol starts burning. When you
switch off the shaver, the red battery symbol starts
to flash. (Fig. 2)
HQ6070: There is no warning or indication that the
,
battery is running low. The appliance switches off
automatically when the battery is completely empty.
Charging the appliance
Charge the appliance when the red battery symbol burns
or flashes (HQ6075/HQ6073) or when the motor stops
or starts running slower (HQ6070).

Put the appliance plug in the shaver (Fig. 3).

Put the powerplug in the wall socket.

Remove the powerplug from the wall socket and
pull the appliance plug out of the shaver when the
battery has been fully charged.
Cordless shaving time
A fully charged shaver has a cordless shaving time of up
to 40 minutes.
Using the appliance
Shaving

Press the on/off button once to switch on the
shaver.

The light ring goes on.

Move the shaving heads quickly over your skin,
making both straight and circular
movements (Fig. 4).
Shaving on a dry face gives the best results.
Your skin may need 2 or 3 weeks to get accustomed to
the Philips shaving system.

Press the on/off button once to switch on the
shaver.

Put the protection cap on the shaver every time
you have used it, to prevent damage (Fig. 5).
Trimming
For grooming sideburns and moustache.

Open the trimmer by pushing the slide
upwards (Fig. 6).
The trimmer can be activated while the motor is running.
Cleaning and maintenance
Regular cleaning guarantees better shaving performance.
The easiest and most hygienic way to clean the appliance
is to rinse the shaving unit and the hair chamber with hot
water every time you have used the appliance.
Be careful with hot water. Always check if the water is
not too hot, to prevent your hands from getting burnt.
Every day: shaving unit and hair chamber

Switch off the shaver, remove the powerplug from
the wall socket and pull the appliance plug out of
the shaver.

Press the release button (1) and open the shaving
unit (2) (Fig. 7).

Clean the shaving unit and the hair chamber by
rinsing them under a hot tap for some time (Fig. 8).
Make sure the inside of the shaving unit and the hair
chamber have been cleaned properly.

Rinse the outside of the appliance (Fig. 9).

Close the shaving unit and shake off excess water.
Never dry the shaving unit with a towel or tissue, as
this may damage the shaving heads.

Open the shaving unit again and leave it open to let
the appliance dry completely (Fig. 10).
You can also clean the hair chamber without water by
using the brush supplied.
Every six months: shaving heads

Open the shaving unit and pull it off the shaver.
You can also leave the shaving unit attached to the shaver.

HQ6075: Remove the retaining frame (Fig. 11).

HQ6073/HQ6070: Open the shaving unit, turn the
wheel anticlockwise (1) and remove the retaining
frame (2) (Fig. 12).

Clean the cutters and guards with the brush
supplied (your shaving heads may differ from the
one shown in the figure) (Fig. 13).
Do not clean more than one cutter and guard at a time,
since they are all matching sets. If you accidentally mix up
the cutters and guards, it may take several weeks before
optimal shaving performance is restored.

HQ6075: Put the shaving heads back into the
shaving unit and then put the retaining frame back
into the shaving unit (Fig. 14).
Make sure that the projections of the shaving heads fit
into the recesses.

HQ6073/HQ6070: Put the shaving heads back into
the shaving unit. Put the retaining frame back into
the shaving unit and turn the lock clockwise (your
shaving heads may differ from the one shown in the
figure).

Put the shaving unit back onto the shaver by
inserting the hinge into the slot in the rim of the
hair chamber and pushing it home until it locks into
place ('click'). (Fig. 15)

Close the shaving unit.
Trimmer
Clean the trimmer every time you have used it.

Switch off the shaver, remove the powerplug from
the wall socket and pull the appliance plug out of
the shaver.

Clean the trimmer with the brush supplied (Fig. 16).

Lubricate the trimmer teeth with a drop of sewing
machine oil every six months (Fig. 17).
Storage
Put the protection cap on the shaver to prevent
,
damage (Fig. 5).
HQ6075/HQ6073: Store the appliance in the pouch.
,
Replacement
Replace the shaving heads every two years for optimal
shaving results.
Replace damaged or worn shaving heads with HQ64
Super Lift & Cut Shaving Heads (HQ6073/HQ6070) or
HQ8 Precise Cutting System Shaving Heads (HQ6075).

shaving unit and then put the retaining frame back
into the shaving unit.

Environment

Do not throw away the appliance with the normal
household waste at the end of its life, but hand it in
at an official collection point for recycling. By doing
this, you help to preserve the environment (Fig. 18).

The built-in rechargeable shaver battery contains
substances that may pollute the environment. Always
remove the battery before you discard and hand in
the shaver at an official collection point. Dispose of
the battery at an official collection point for batteries.
If you have trouble removing the battery, you can
also take the shaver to a Philips service centre. The
staff of this centre will remove the battery for you
and will dispose of it in an environmentally safe way.
Disposal of the battery
Only remove the battery if it is completely empty.

Remove the powerplug from the wall socket and
pull the appliance plug out of the shaver.

Let the shaver run until it stops, undo the screws
and open the shaver (Fig. 19).

Remove the battery.
Do not connect the shaver to the mains again after the
battery has been removed.
