How do I set my route preferences?

You can enhance your navigation experience by modifying aspects of your route and route calculations.
1. From the Map screen, tap the undock button or tap the docked menu in Slide Touch™ mode.
2. To set your Map screen preference, scroll down the screen and then tap the button in the Map section to
select either a 3D or 2D view of the Map screen.
3. To change other preferences, tap Other Options. The Other Options screen will display.
4. Complete the following:
If you want to ...
set route type options for your route
display 3D landmarks on your route
change the voice scheme
set how you want to receive the
safety camera information
enable/disable speed limit alerts
set your own speed limit
set types of road options for your
route
enable/disable traffic alerts
enable/disable automatic zooming
during navigation
display time or distance information
on the navigation screen
avoid ring roads for your route
Then ...
tap Type of Route to select your route type preference from the list:
Fastest - The route that should be the fastest when navigating
Shortest - The route with the shortest physical length
Optimal - The simplest route with the least number of turns and favours
motorways where appropriate
Economical - The route with least number of stops, turns and urban areas
which should save on fuel usage
Tip: Selecting Shortest route type over Fastest route type can cause a much
longer journey time.
tap 3D Landmarks to show or hide 3D landmarks.
tap Voice Guidance to select your preferred voice scheme from the list.
tap Speed Cameras to select the desired setting: Always alert, Display only or
Never show.
tap Speed Limit to show or hide speed limits on your route.
If Alert when over is selected, you will receive both visual and audio alerts
when overspeeding.
tap User Define Speed Limit to select your preference from the list.
tap Highways, Ferries or Toll Roads and then select the desired settings.
Note: Avoiding ferry routes may prevent you from navigating between certain
countries, even when a bridge or tunnel exists.
tap Traffic and then select the desired settings.
select either the ON or OFF option.
If selected, the Map screens will automatically zoom in or out, depending on
your speed, to allow optimal viewing of your route.
tap Stats on Map to select the desired setting: None, Arrival time (estimated),
Time to go (estimated) or Distance to go.
tap Ring Roads avoidance and then select the desired settings.
