THE SOCKET OUTLET SHALL BE INSTALLED NEAR THE EQUIPMENT
AND SHALL BE EASILY ACCESSIBLE.
≥You can use the unit while the battery is recharging.
Recharge while the unit is stopped (page 6-7) to fully recharge.
≥You can recharge Panasonic rechargeable battery even if it is only partially drained.
≥You can recharge the battery about 300 times. It has reached the end of its useful
life if play time dramatically reduces after recharging.
≥Disconnect the AC adaptor to save power if you are not going to use the unit for a long time.
≥The unit is in the standby condition when the AC adaptor is connected. The primary
circuit is always "live" as long as the AC adaptor is connected to an electrical outlet.
Dry cell battery (not included)
Use a long life "AAA, LR03, AM-4" alkaline battery.
≥Insert the same way as the rechargeable battery.
Multi cradle and AC adaptor
Insert either a rechargeable or dry cell battery.
≥The multi cradle works on AC and the main unit works on the battery.
When using a rechargeable battery, it is recharged as you use the unit so you can
use it over a longer time.
When using a dry cell battery, you can use the unit until the battery goes flat.

The battery indicator (displayed during operation)

while a dry cell battery is inserted,
the whole indicator flashes.

Hold function

This causes the unit to ignore accidental button presses.
You cannot operate the mutli cradle if hold is on.
Hold mode
To save the battery
While stopped, switch to hold so the display turns off.

Setting the time

The year (2003) starts flashing on the display after you insert a battery.
(See "Correcting the time settings" below if it doesn't.)
Repeat the SELECT ) SET steps to set the clock.
The clock has a monthly accuracy of i/j 60 seconds at room temperature.

Correcting the time settings
1. While stopped, press and hold [ $ FOLDER/ % MENU] until "HQ SP LP" appears.
Do each of the following within 10 seconds
2. Press [:,9] until "yEAr" appears.
3. Press [1/∫].
4. Follow the above steps to change the setting you want to correct.
≥Start from the beginning again if the display returns to the clock partway through.
≥Press [ $ FOLDER/ % MENU] for two seconds to stop partway through.
