Hello! I have one of these machines and have only ever been able to use it as a blender. When I try putting the detachable drive shaft in and then the bowl (and lid etc) the power won't turn on. Although it clicks into place under the handle piece, there is nothing that locks into place under the main part of the bowl and therefore it doesn't seem to turn on. Looking at the manual, it doesn't look like I'm missing any pieces, so I'm just wondering how I can get this to work! Thank you

To get the Kenwood FP691 food processor to work properly using the detachable drive shaft and bowl:

1. Fit the detachable shaft onto the power unit before plugging in.
2. Fit the bowl by placing the handle toward the back and turning it clockwise until it locks.
3. Fit an attachment over the drive shaft.
4. Add ingredients only after the bowl and attachment are fitted.
5. Fit the lid, ensuring the top of the drive shaft locates into the center of the lid.
6. Switch on and select a speed using the on/off speed control. Do not use the lid to operate the processor.
