    Memory Card and Internal Memory Loading and Removing the Memory Card ■ ●Loading the Memory Card Turn the DV camera off and follow the instructions below: Slide the battery cover Insert the memory card as open as indicated by the indicated by the arrow.
  • Page 14 The applicable memory cards are SD or MMC (4MB~512MB). If the memory card is inserted in the wrong direction, it would not be fit in. In that case, do not force the insertion or it would damage the memory card. If the memory card is not detected, gently wipe the metal interface of the card with a soft cloth and reload the card.

    Using the Internal Memory ■ The 16MB built-in flash memory in the DV camera provides a temporary space for storing data when the external memory card is full. However, not the full 16MB flash memory is to be used for storing data, because some memory space will be in use by the OSD program.

    Adjusting the Wrist Strap Follow the instructions below to adjust the wrist strap: Open the wrist strap pouch. Adjust the wrist strap to fit your wrist. Close the wrist strap pouch.

    Power on and LED Indicators Power Supply ● Press the Power button to turn on the DV camera; press the Power button again to turn off. If no operation is carried out for a fixed period of time (default: 3 minutes), the DV camera will be turned OFF automatically.

    Recording Video ■ Use this DV camera to record videos (MPEG4 format). The microphone located in the front of camera will record voice. (To disable the voice recording function, please refer to page 23.) The length of the recorded video will depend on the free space of the internal memory/memory card.

    Taking Pictures ■ Use this DV camera to take still images. The image file format is JPEG. The maximum recordable image count depends on the free space of the internal memory/memory card. The image resolution and quality also affect maximum image recordable. Generally speaking, the higher image resolution and quality, the more memory space is required.

    Flash ■ Press button to toggle between flash modes. Display Flash mode Description Flash Off Turn off the flash; this mode is applicable to an environment with sufficient lights. Auto Flash The flash fires automatically according to the ambient; this mode is applicable to general-purpose photography.

    White Balance ■ For more information on White Balance, refer to page 22. There are 6 white balance settings in the Snapshot mode: Auto: Adjust the white balance automatically. It is applicable to general-purpose photography. Sunny: It is applicable to outdoor (a sunny day) photography. Bulb: It is applicable to indoor with fluorescent lighting.
  • Page 31 Spot metering: measures a spot in the center which is about 1/25 of the viewfinder to determine the exposure of the entire image. A square frame will be displayed on the center and indicator will be at the lower left of the LCD monitor.

    ■ ISO (Sensitivity) settings control the DV camera's sensitivity to light. The lower sensitivity is, the higher exposure value is needed. When you increase the sensitivity, the shutter speed will be faster and exposure value will be reduced. There might be noises on the images. The DV camera provides 4 ISO settings: Auto, 100, 200 and 400.
