Owner’s Manual Compressor Basic Compressor Components The basic components of the air compressor the electric motor, pump, pressure switch, and tank. The electric motor (see A) powers the pump. The electric motor is equipped with an overload protector and an automatic reset. If the motor becomes overheated, the overload protector will shut it down to prevent damage to the motor.

It is operated automatically when the power switch is in the ON position, it allows the compressor to start up or shut down automatically, without warning, depending upon air demand.
