DIAGNOSTICS

Use the Engine Diagnostic Tool to
check trouble codes. A Diagnostic
Trouble Code (DTC) arises when a ve-
hicle's computer detects a sensor fail-
ure or a parameter outside a specifi c
range. Most vehicles will illuminate
the in-dash check engine light. An HT
programmer will read, identify and let
you clear DTCs.
READ DTC
1. Plug your programmer into the
OBD-II port.
2. Use the diagnostic tool to read the
DTC from the vehicle's computer. If
a code is present, it will be displayed
with a full text description.
CLEAR DTC
If your vehicle displays a DTC, an
Edge Products programmer can clear
the code, turning off your check en-
gine light.
(NOTE: If a DTC persists, this could
indicate a vehicle malfunction or
problem. Be sure to return the vehicle
to stock prior to taking it in for ser-
vice to address the issue.)
