    TURNING OFF THE GRILL: 1. Turn off the cylinder valve. 2. Turn all burner control knobs to the "OFF" position. Note: Turn off LP cylinder first to prevent gas from being left in the system under pressure. CAUTION! • The cylinder valve should always be in the off, or closed, position when the grill is not in use.

    TO MINIMIZE FLARE-UPS: • Trim excess fat from meats prior to cooking. • Cook meats with high fat contents (chicken or pork) on Low settings or indirectly. • Ensure that your grill is on level ground and the grease is allowed to evacuate the grill through the drain hole in the bottom and into grease cup.

    CHARCOAL GRILL GENERAL WARNINGS WARNING • Only use this grill on a hard, level, non-combustible, stable surface (concrete, ground, etc.) capable of supporting the weight of the grill. Never use on wooden or other surfaces that could burn. • DO NOT use grill without charcoal ash tray in place. DO NOT attempt to remove charcoal ash tray while tray contains hot coals.

    A cover for your Triple Function Grill may be ordered directly from Brinkmann by calling 800-527-0717 (U.S. only). 1. Lightly coat all interior surfaces of the Triple Function Grill including cooking grills with vegetable oil or vegetable oil spray. Do not coat charcoal grate or charcoal tray.

    A lot of wood is not required to obtain a good smoke flavor. A recommended amount for the Brinkmann Triple Function Grill is 5 to 6 wood chunks or sticks. Experiment by using more wood for stronger smoke flavor or less wood for milder smoke flavor.

    ADDING CHARCOAL/WOOD DURING COOKING Additional charcoal and/or wood may be required to maintain or increase cooking temperature. Stand back and carefully open grill or firebox lid. Use caution since flames can flare-up when fresh air suddenly comes in contact with fire. Wearing oven mitts/gloves, use charcoal grate adjuster crank to place charcoal grate at the lowest level of cooking chamber.
