The handsets are programmed to work with a specific base unit. You cannot switch to a Base Units and Handsets new handset or a new base unit without having it reprogrammed by Vertical Communications. BATTERY PACKS contain rechargeable, sealed Nickel-Metal-Hydride batteries.
