The unpainted surfaces are coated with a waxy oil to prevent corrosion during shipment. Remove this protective coating with a solvent cleaner or citrus-based degreaser such as Grizzly’s G7895 Citrus Degreaser. To clean thoroughly, some parts must be removed. For optimum performance from your machine, clean all moving parts or sliding contact surfaces.
Lift the bandsaw off of the pallet, remove the pallet, and slowly set the bandsaw into posi- tion. Note: If you are concerned about your forklift forks hitting the tension handwheel, remove the handwheel, then reinstall it after lifting. G0636X 17" Ultimate Bandsaw...
(see Figure 10) that has wheel locking or wheel retracting capabilities that keep the mobile base from rolling when the bandsaw is in use. We recommend using the Grizzly Model G7315 mobile base. Bolting to Concrete Floors Lag shield anchors with lag bolts (Figure 9) and anchor studs are two popular methods for anchor- ing an object to a concrete floor.

-18- Dust Collection DO NOT operate the Model G0636X without an adequate dust collection system. This saw creates substantial amounts of wood dust while operating. Failure to use a dust collection system can result in short and long-term respiratory illness.

The Model G0636X is equipped with a foot brake (Figure 38). Use the brake only in emergency situations to stop power from going to the motor and bring the blade to a halt. The foot brake will not stop the bandsaw wheels and blade instantly.
