You cannot insert
a SmartMedia card

The SmartMedia card
is not formatted.

Procedure
Make sure the card is properly oriented. Insert
the edge with the notched corner first and make
sure the connector (metal area) faces down.
Make sure the card is not write protected.
Delete any unneeded files on the SmartMedia
and try again.
Try another SmartMedia card. If you can access
this card, the original card (not the SmartMedia
slot) is probably causing the problem.
Make sure the target file is on the SmartMedia
card inserted in the slot.
Format the SmartMedia on the device that you
will use it with.
If problems persist, contact your dealer.
