Tone
– Adjust the pitch or tone independently among the different audio indications.
Fixed Threshold – Select the pitch of the non-VCO.
VCO Threshold – Select the beginning pitch of the VCO threshold.
Target tone – Select the pitch a metal target produces when Tone ID is not used.
Overload tone – Select the pitch of the overload indication so it is recognizable compared to other
indications.
VDI Tones – Select different types of audio tone ID for when Tone ID is ON.. Likely targets or
target ranges identifi ed by pitch. The selection at this point in the Menu dictates the type of
Tone ID activated in other Tone ID on/off choices. In other words if you choose Standard here,
ongoing on/off Tone ID choices later in the menu will activate the standard version
of Tone ID.
Standard – Progressively higher pitched beeps for targets progressively higher on the VDI
scale, +95 the highest.
Shifted – Iron / negative VDI numbers are all the same tone. Starting at the selected
reference tone, VDI numbers above 0 are progressively pitched.
Negative Tone (VDI <0) – Select one pitch for ALL negative VDI numbers.
Reference Tone (VDI = 0) – Select a reference pitch for VDI = 0, (+) VDI numbers
are shift higher.
Custom – Manually select custom pitches for each VDI number or the same pitch for a
range of VDI numbers.
VDI Tones - Arrow up & down to see each VDI number and it's pitch. Arrow left
and right to select pitch.
Search Audio
– Select the type of audio output or mode for primary searching.
Discrimination – Provides audio (beep) trash metal rejection, requires search coil movement to
detect.
Threshold – "X" = background hum (threshold), or empty box = silent search (no
threshold).
Tone Id – "X" = pitch difference depending upon VDI number and the VDI Tone method
previously selected under AUDIO, TONE, VDI TONE. Empty box = no different tones or
pitches for different VDI numbers.
Modulation – "X" = on, empty box = off. Selects the depth of the metal targets infl uence
over the target's audio beep volume.
Range – Higher numbers = more Modulation / deeper targets produce quieter
responses.
All Metal – Provides for an audio (beep) response to all metal types. Search coil motion is not
critical depending on SAT feature.
VCO – Produces a varied pitch based on target depth and/or position in relationship to the
search coil.
Mixed mode - Combines Discrimination (when search coil is in motion) and All Metal (when search
coil is stationary or moved slowly).
Tone Id – Selects on/off Tone ID feature for Discrimination portion of Mixed Mode. Specifi c
Tone ID method previously selected under AUDIO, TONE, VDI TONE.
Modulation –Selects the depth of the metal targets infl uence over the audio beep volume
for the Discrimination portion of the mixed Mode..
Range – Higher numbers = more Modulation / deeper targets produce quieter
responses.
