How to Operate the Tuner Setup Mode

Your McIntosh MA6600 with the TM2 installed has been
factory configured for default operating settings that will
allow immediate enjoyment of superb audio from AM/FM
and HD Radio
Stations without the need for further
TM
adjustments. Proceed to "How to Operate the MA6600
Tuner" at this time unless you wish to make changes to the
TM2 factory default settings.
A Setup Feature is provided to customize the operating
settings using the Front Panel Information Display. Refer
to the MA6600 Owner's Manual page 12 while performing
the following steps.
Notes: 1. If the MA6600 is currently On, proceed to
step 2.
2. Making changes to the amplifier default set-
tings are covered in the Setup Section in the
MA6600 Owner's Manual starting on page 13.
1. Press the STANDBY/ON Push-button to switch On the
MA6600. The MA6600 will go through a brief startup
intialization with the Front Panel Information Display
indicating the last used source and volume setting, this
is followed by

tion starting
at zero and
then increasing to the last used volume setting. Rotate
the INPUT Control to select Tuner FM. Refer to figure
TM2-1.
2. Press the MONO/SETUP Push-button until the Front
Panel Information Display indicates SETUP: TUNER
SDK MC__._.________ firmware version, refer to
figure TM2-

will now indicate SETUP: TUNER DSP DRI-___-
_______-___ firmware, refer to figure TM2-3. These
firmware ver-

the TM2 Tuner Model. At this time the LEDs above the
MONO/SETUP and STORE/EXIT Push-buttons will
be illuminated.
3. To exit from the Setup Mode, press the STORE/EXIT
Push-button. The LED above the MONO/SETUP
Push-button and STORE/EXIT Push-button will extin-

guish and the Front Panel Display will revert back to
its normal display. Refer to figure TM2-1.
Default Settings
When a McIntosh Tuner Module is installed into the
MA6600 the following additional Setup Settings will be-
come available indicating the Function Name and Default
Setting.

Clear Presets
The TM2 AM/FM Tuner has three different Tuning
Modes when installed into the MA6600. One of the Tuning
Modes is Preset Tuning, where favorite stations are entered
into memory for quick recall. Any preset station may be
removed from memory at any time. There are times when
it may be desirable to remove from memory all the preset
stations. To accomplish this perform the following steps:
1. Press the MONO/SETUP Push-button until the Setup
Mode is active. Then press the MONO/SETUP Push-
button to select the Setup Menu item "SETUP: TUN-
ER CLEAR PRESETS". Refer to figure TM2-4.
2. Rotate the TRIM ADJUST Control to select one of
four choices:
NONE (default setting, No Presets are cleared)
AM (all AM stored Presets are cleared)
FM (all FM stored Presets are cleared)
All (all AM and FM stored Presets are cleared)
3. Press the STORE/EXIT Push-button to exit the Setup
Mode. Proceed to "How to operate the Tuner" on the
next page.
