This section contains the specification for the ADA-8 Mainframe; specifications for Analogue
and Digital I/O Modules are contained in the Module Reference.
Unless otherwise stated, all performance specifications are rms, unweighted, band-limited
20Hz-20kHz, sampling at 96kHz, wordlength 24-bits, analogue I/O line-up at 0dBFS=+18dBu.

8.1 Physical

Dimensions:
Width: 435mm (483mm overall including rack-mounts)
Depth: 390mm
Height: 88mm
Power supply: 90..125/180..250VAC, 50/60Hz

2 x Analogue I/O Module Slots
2 x Digital I/O Module Slots
1 x Utility Module (Monitor outputs, ref sync I/O and RS232/485/MIDI comms)

8.2 Synchronization

Independent multi-stage, auto-ranging PLL sync circuits for each Path:
Ultra-high-precision mode within 0.15% of standard rates:
High-precision mode within 6.00% of standard rates;
Non-standard rates from 28-52kHz and 78-105kHz dependent on firmware;
Internal references at 32, 44.1, 48, 88.2, 96kHz ± 25ppm
Sync sources include internal crystal, wordclock, AES11, video, or any digital input.
Paths can sample at a different rate from their sync source if required.
Wordclock and AES11 sync outputs can be driven by either Path.
Superclock output mode available to slave Digidesign 888|24 I/O units.
