Read the instructions and keep them safe. If you pass the appliance on, pass on the instructions
too. Remove all packaging, but keep it till you know the appliance works.

important safeguards

Follow basic safety precautions, including:
1 This appliance must only be used by or under the supervision of a responsible adult. Use and
store the appliance out of reach of children.
2 Don't put the kettle, stand, cable, or plug in any liquid; don't use the kettle in a
bathroom, near water, or outdoors.
3 Don't touch hot surfaces. Use the handle and lid button.
4 Keep the kettle, stand, and cable away from the edges of worktops and out of reach of
children.
5 Put the stand on a stable, level surface. Route the cable so it doesn't overhang, and can't be
caught or tripped over.
6 Wind excess cable beneath the stand.
7 Unplug the stand when not in use, before moving and before cleaning.
8 Don't use the kettle for any purpose other than heating water.
9 Use the kettle only with the stand supplied (and vice versa).
10 This appliance must not be operated by an external timer or remote control system.
11 Don't use the appliance if it's damaged or malfunctions.
12 If the cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or
someone similarly qualified, in order to avoid hazard.
filling
1 Remove the kettle from the stand.
2 Press the lid release button to open the lid.
3 Fill with at least 2 cups of water, but not above max (inside the kettle).
4 If you overfill, the kettle may spit boiling water.
5 To close the lid, press the button in the centre of the lid.
switching on
6 Check the switch is off (move it to 0).
7 Plug the stand into the wall socket.
8 Put the kettle on the stand.
9 Move the switch to 1. The light will come on, and the kettle will heat up.
