  • Page 6 Safety instructions for assembly and use The metal grease filters must always be in place when the cooker hood is in operation. Greasy vapours may otherwise be deposited in the hood and in the extraction air system. In the case of gas cookers it is important to ensure that the cooking zones are not operated without any cookware.

    INSTALLATION Depending on the model, a minimum clearance of 60 cm must be maintained between an electric hob and the bottom of the cooker hood when installing the hood. A minimum clearance of 75 cm must be maintained for gas hobs (Fig. 1). Fig.

  • Page 10 Take the wall mounting bracket shown in Fig. 2 and place it on the wall so that you have the height you want when you mount the cooker hood. Make sure that you maintain a minimum clearance of 60 cm between the hob and the bottom of the cooker hood for electric hobs and a minimum clearance of 75 cm for gas hobs.

To align the hood on the right and left hand side, you can either move the wall mounting bracket to the left or right until it is in the ideal position by loosening the screws and then fastening them again (if the hood needs to be moved by more than 0.5 cm) (Fig.

  • Page 14 Take the ceiling mounting bracket shown in Fig. 6 and place it on the ceiling so that you have the height you want when you mount the cooker hood. Make sure that you maintain a minimum clearance of 60 cm between the hob and the bottom of the cooker hood for electric hobs and a minimum clearance of 75 cm for gas hobs.
  • Page 15 The height of the cooker hood can be adjusted with the mounting angles. You can use sheet metal hooks on the body of the hood to hang up the hood before you finally mount it. Once you have mounted the body of the hood onto the mounting angles, fasten the LED glass panels that have been supplied as shown in Fig.

    OPERATION This cooker hood is regulated with touch-sensitive sensor controls located on the front of the hood. The controls react when the corresponding symbol is touched lightly. You can regulate the power settings, the lamp, including the brightness level, as well as the automatic delayed stop function with the sensor controls.

    Night Light function This cooker hood is fitted with a Night Light system which you can use to make a setting so that the lighting switches on automatically when it is dark as soon as the system registers a movement in the kitchen. The lighting then switches off automatically after 30 seconds each time a movement is detected.

    IR remote control An IR remote control (Fig. 8) is included with delivery. It can be used to operate and regulate all the functions of the cooker hood from a distance of several metres. To do so, point the remote control towards the cooker hood and press the function of your choice on the remote control.

    In the case of models KD9980.0TGE / KD0080.0BGE or IKD9980.0TGE / IKD980.0BGE you can also clean the front metal grease filters in addition to the the bottom metal grease filters.

    Grease filter To remove the grease filter press the bar rail handle of the filter down and remove the grease filter from the hood (Fig. 10). Then remove the grease filter from the stainless steel frame (Fig. 10.2). To replace the grease filter, first of all replace it in the stainless steel frame and then return it to the hood.

    Depending on how you cook and fry, the metal grease filters should be cleaned approximately every two weeks. Soak the metal grease filters and stainless steel frames well in hot soapy water, clean them with a soft brush and then spray them thoroughly with hot water to rinse them.
  • Page 23 The charcoal filter should be replaced after approximately three to six months. The intervals for cleaning and replacement should generally be observed in order to ensure that no greasy vapours are deposited on kitchen walls and units. If the metal filter is not regularly cleaned when the hood is operated in the circulation mode, the charcoal filter will also become clogged more quickly, impairing the operation of the hood.
