Surface Cooking

SensaCook™ (some models)
Some models come with SensaCook™, a pan sensing feature. The SensaCook™ key will activate or deactivate pan
sensing feature and the dual element pan sizing features (Fig. 1).
The LED light located above the SensaCook™ pad (Fig. 1) will indicate when this feature is active. If the feature is active,
any cooking zone marked SensaCook™ Element (Fig. 2) will begin to heat only when properly sized metallic cookware is
placed on one of the surface cooking zones.
If metallic cookware is not used or if metallic
cookware is not properly centered on the cooking
zone, the surface element control display will flash
the power level setting indicating that the cooking
zone is not heating. When proper cookware has
been detected, the surface element control will
display the power level without flashing.
If the SensaCook™ feature is active and the
cookware is removed from heating zone while
cooking, the SensaCook™ feature will deactivate
the affected cooking zone and will stop heating (the
display will flash the power level). If the cookware is
not placed back on the cooking zone within 1
minute, the cooktop control will provide a reminder
beep. If the cookware is not placed back on the
cooking zone within 5 minutes the SensaCook™
feature will completely deactivate the affected
cooking zone and flush the previous power level
setting automatically.
Any cooking zone may also be used without
activating the SensaCook™ feature. If deactivated,
the cooking zone elements produce heat when
using all types of cookware.
When the SensaCook™ feature is active, the
Element Size keypad for the Bridge Element will be
available for setting. The Element Size keypad for
the Dual Element will not be available, but the
SensaCook™ pan sensing system will
automatically detect and set the proper pan size.
The SensaCook™ feature does not work with the
Warming Zone element (See Fig. 3).
