Photographic images look grainy or rough.
Cause
The printing position is
misaligned.
The resolution of the original
image data or the resolution
setting for the image in your
image-editing software may
be too low.
The Status Monitor window does not appear when you are
using Windows 95.
Cause
The Use Print Manager for
this port option is selected in
the Queue Setup window.
The Enable bi-directional
support for this printer
option is not selected in the
Spool Settings window.
What to do
Align the print heads with the Print
Head Alignment utility. See "Aligning
the Print Head" later in this chapter.
Increase the image resolution in your
image-editing software. Keep in mind
that higher resolution images take
longer to print.
What to do
Make sure Use Print Manager for this
port is not selected. Click the Start
button, point to Programs, point to
Epson, and click Spool Manager4.
Then click Queue and Setup in the
EPSON Spool Manager window.
You must select Enable
bi-directional support for this printer
in the Spool Settings window to use
the Status Monitor. To access the Spool
Settings window, click the Start
button, point to Settings, and click
Printers. Right-click the icon for your
printer and choose Properties from
the drop-down menu. Click the
Details tab; then click Spool Settings.
Select Enable bi-directional support
for this printer.
