Type designation

When contacting your Volvo dealer about your
car and when ordering spare parts and
accessories, it makes things easier if you know
your car's type designation, vehicle identifica-
tion number and engine number.
1 Type, model year designation and
vehicle identification number
Stamped in the engine compartment
beneath the windscreen.
2 Type designation, vehicle identification
number, maximum permissible weights
and codes for paint and upholstery and
type approval number.
Plate on wing liner behind right-hand
headlamp.
3 Engine type designation, component
and serial number
On right-hand side of engine.
4 Transmission type designation, and
serial number
a: Manual gearbox: on the front side
b: Automatic gearbox (AW55-50): on the
upper side
