VideoLogic Vivid!XS Installation Guide
Installing the software
You install the driver software after you have installed the hardware. Restart your PC and follow
the relevant steps below depending on which version of Windows you are using:
Windows 98, 2000, Me or XP
1. Click cancel if a dialog appears which states that new hardware (Graphics/Display Adapter or
Video Controller) has been found.
2. Insert the Vivid!XS CD into your CD drive.
3. If it doesn't auto-play, double-click the CD in My Computer.
4. If you aren't running DirectX 8.0 or later, you should now install it. Restart your computer
when prompted, leaving the CD in the drive.
5. Select the 'Install the drivers' option, follow the instructions and restart when prompted.
6. If you have a TV connected Windows will detect it as a Plug and Play monitor. Select
'Automatic search for a better driver' if asked. Windows installs and uses a suitable driver.
Do NOT install the drivers for your monitor at this point as these will not work with the TV
- you must use the default (Plug and Play monitor) drivers.
If you don't have a TV connected and Windows detects a monitor you should install the
drivers appropriate to your monitor. In most cases, the correct drivers for your monitor will
be supplied by Windows and you will not need to insert a separate floppy disk or CD to
install them. Otherwise, you need to use the drivers supplied with your monitor or available
from your monitor manufacturer.
Windows NT 4.0
1. Insert the Vivid!XS CD into your CD drive.
2. If it doesn't auto-play, double-click the CD in My Computer.
3. Select the 'Install the drivers' option and follow the on-screen instructions.
You are now at the Vivid!XS home page on the CD, from which you can access other included
software and documentation.
