VideoLogic Vivid!XS Installation Guide

Introduction

Thank you for choosing Vivid!XS.
The Vivid!XS CD contains a comprehensive software package, which includes the PowerVR
Tools software for display and TV control, diagnostics and 3D optimization; InterVideo's award-
winning fully-featured WinDVD software for high-quality software DVD playback; demos of the
latest hot games for Vivid!XS to accelerate; and HTML documentation offering technical
support, further reference material, and links to web sites.
This guide takes you through installing Vivid!XS, gives technical details about the card, and
offers troubleshooting advice and technical support.
CD documentation
There is documentation on the CD that provides further details and any late-breaking
information, plus a complete step-by-step technical support guide. You can choose to install a
copy of the documentation when you install the drivers. To read it after you have installed
Vivid!XS, play the CD to start the Vivid!XS Home Page, then click Documentation.
Minimum system requirements
To run Vivid!XS, the minimum recommended system is a Pentium Celeron 300 MHz or
AMD-K6-2 300 MHz with 64 MB RAM and an AGP bus slot, running Windows 98, NT 4.0,
2000, Me or XP.
Handling the card
Follow these guidelines to minimize the risk of electrostatic charges damaging the card:
Keep the card in its protective packaging until you are ready to install it.
Just before handling the card, touch the metal frame of your PC with the back of your hand
to discharge any static electricity which may have built up on you or your clothes.
Hold the card by the adapter bracket or by its edges; do not touch the circuit board.
Do not place the card on top of your computer or on any other metal surface.
Handle the card with care to avoid damage to the components on the circuit board.
