Focus Mode

Focus Mode
Choose how the camera focuses (note that re-
gardless of the option selected, manual focus will
be used when a manual focus lens is attached).

Press MENU/OK in shooting mode to
display the shooting menu. Press
the selector up or down to highlight
F FOCUS MODE and press MENU/OK.

Press the selector up or down to high-
light the desired option and press
MENU/OK to select.

Option Option
Choose for manual control of focus or in
p MANUAL situations in which the camera is unable
to focus using autofocus (P 54).
When the shutter button is pressed half-
way, the camera detects high-contrast
s MULTI
subjects near the center of the frame
and selects the focus area automatically.
t AREA Choose the focus area manually (P 52).
The camera continuously adjusts focus
u CONTINUOUS
to refl ect changes in the distance to the
subject in the focus frame.
Position the subject in the focus target
and press the selector left. The camera
x TRACKING
will track the subject and adjust focus as
it moves through the frame.
