Connect the Scanner

• Make sure that the scanning unit is unlocked. (P.5)

Peel the caution seals from the scanner.

Connect the FAU cable to the scanner.

Connect the scanner to the computer with the supplied USB interface cable or a
generic IEEE1394 (FireWire) interface cable.

• You cannot have the USB cable and the IEEE1394 interface cable connected to the
scanner at the same time.
• Please read the IEEE1394 caution sheet bundled with the scanner for precautions
with the IEEE1394 interface and recommended cables by Canon.

Attach the supplied AC adapter to the scanner.
AC Adapter
• Only use the USB interface cable and the AC adapter provided with the scanner. Use of
other cables or adapters may lead to a malfunction.
