OPERATING YOUR WATER HEATER Water Heater Start-Up Water Temperatu re Regulation Before operating the water heater, make sure the water heater has been properly installed. Completely fill the tank with water. Carefully read and understand the section, "Water Temperature Regulation", of this manual and adjust the temperature control knob to the desired setting. -

Use the temperature control knob to change to the desired temperature. Operating Mode Descriptions Smart Mode - The controller operates the water heater to maintain the customer's selected temperature. Energy Smart Mode - The controller adjusts the water temperature to lowest temperature required to meet the household demands. -

Water Heater Sounds Operation Conditions During the normal operation of the water heater, Anode Rod/Water Odor sounds or noises may be heard.
