Please note the following: Temperature and Pressure DO NOT install this water heater with iron piping. Relief Valve The system should be installed only with new piping that is suitable for potable (drinkable) water such as WARNING copper, CPVC, or polybutylene. DO NOT use PVC water piping. -

Electrical Requirements Important: Only a new temperature and pressure relief valve should be used with your water heater. Do not use an old or existing valve as it may be damaged or WARNING not adequate for the working pressure of the new water heater. -

5. Ground the water heater by connecting the Installation Checklist grounding wire from the electrical service ground to the (green) ground screw located in the junction Water Heater Location box. Note: Only use 10 gauge wires for electrical connections and a 30 ampere double pole breaker. Centrally located with the water piping system. -

1. Smart Mode - The controller operates the water heater to maintain the customer’s selected temperature. 2. Energy Smart Mode - The controller adjusts the water temperature to lowest temperature required to meet the household demands. This mode minimizes operating costs. The controller will not adjust temperature higher than customer’s selected set point or lower than 115°F. -
