Use the Macro function to take close-up shots.

When shooting in dark conditions, use a tripod to
prevent camera shake.

To use the flash, display the menu and select

Forced flash" or "
Slow-synchro". However,
note that you may not get the correct exposure.
If you use the viewfinder to take a picture in
Macro Photography, the field visible through
the viewfinder does not match the field
actually photographed because the
viewfinder and lens are in different positions.
For this reason, you should use the LCD
monitor to take pictures in Macro
Photography. The LCD monitor does not
switch off in Macro Photography.

When you set the Normal/Macro selector button

" appears on the LCD
monitor and the camera switches to Macro
photography.
Set the Normal/Macro selector button to the "
icon to return to Normal photography.

The LCD monitor is automatically switched on.

When you cancel Macro photography, the flash
reverts to its previous mode. The LCD monitor will
remain ON.
USING THE DIGITAL TELEPHOTO

Digital telephoto photography allows you to
enlarge the central portion of the image.
Digital telephoto photography can only be used
for images shot using the LCD monitor that have
a file size setting of "640
480".

" when you are taking pictures, the
image enlarges and "2.0
" appears on the LCD
monitor. Press "

" to revert to the normal scale.
