5. Handle the hard drive only by its edges to avoid damage from
electrostatic discharge.
Disengage the hard drive connectors by grasping the left Mylar flap and
pulling to the right as shown. Lift up on the Mylar sheet and remove the
hard drive. The Mylar sheet stays in place.
6. If your new hard drive is from a different manufacturer than the old one,
it may have screws in different positions. Determine which mounting
holes you need; then, if necessary, push out rubber screw-hole covers
