Replacing or upgrading the hard drives
CAUTION:
Shut down the computer before removing a hard drive from the hard drive bay.
If you are not sure whether the computer is off, in the Sleep state, or in Hibernation, press the power
button, and then shut down the computer through the operating system.
NOTE:
Some computer models can support up to three drives—two hard drives and one solid-state
drive. To determine the number and type of drives installed in your computer, click Start, right-click
Computer, click Manage, and then click Disk Management.
NOTE:
When replacing a hard drive, make sure that you save the hard drive bracket and cover.
You may need these parts to install the new hard drive.

Save your work and shut down the computer.

Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3.
Remove external power from the computer.
4.
Slide the release latch (1), and then remove the hard drive cover (2).

Remove the service access door.
