Aperture Display
The aperture can be set and displayed in full and half stops as shown below.
The larger the number, the smaller the aperture opening will be. The dis-
playable range of apertures depends on the lens mounted on the camera.
Depth-of-field Preview
• This feature works in Creative Zone modes.
• When you press the depth-of-field preview button, AE lock also takes effect.
• In the <

If the shutter speed display does not
blink, a correct exposure will be obtained.
• If the slowest shutter speed blinks, it indi-
cates underexposure. In such a case,

ture (smaller f/number) until the shutter
speed display stops blinking.
• If the fastest shutter speed blinks, it indi-
cates overexposure. In such a case, turn
the <
> dial to set a smaller aperture
(larger f/number) until the shutter speed
display stops blinking.
To check the depth of field, press the
depth-of-field preview button. The
camera will stop down the aperture
and you can check the in-focus range
in the viewfinder.
