Planning a journey using your voice
Do not keep your eyes fixed on the monitor screen or operate the system while
driving.
Do not change the settings and destination locations while driving. Minimize the time spent
on viewing the monitor screen and listening to the voice guidance while driving. Operating
the system will distract the driver from looking ahead of the vehicle and can cause accidents.
Always stop the vehicle in a safe location and use the parking brake before operating the
system.
To plan a route to an address using speech, do the following:
1. Touch the voice control button in the Driving View.
2. When you hear a beep, say, "Navigate to address."
When you speak, the voice control monitor shows if you are talking too loudly or quietly:
A green bar means your voice is at the right level for your navigation device to
hear your commands.
A red bar means your voice is too loud.
A grey bar means your voice is too quiet.
For some phrases, your navigation device will always repeat the command and then ask you
if the command has been correctly recognised.
You can now enter an address using speech.
Alternatively, you can touch the screen to start planning a journey, then touch
to start entering an address by voice.
