Navigator Refer to www.tomtom.com To receive traffic information from the TomTom Traffic server your Pocket PC needs a working mobile GPRS internet connection. The Traffic Plug-In has been designed to retrieve traffic information over a GPRS or other packet switched connection. Do not use the Traffic Plug-In with GSM Data or other circuit switched connections, this can lead to substantial communication costs.
To receive traffic information: Verify that you have a working GPRS Internet connection on your Pocket PC (although TomTom cannot give you support on how to set up a GPRS Internet connection, you will find useful tips at www.tomtom.com). Pocket PC. If the Traffic Plug-In has been installed correctly you will be prompted to enter the login and password of your TomTom Traffic account. Enter login and password and tap Activate. The Pocket PC will now open the internet connection, activate your traffic account and retrieve the latest traffic information.
Tap OK to continue. After selecting menu icon style and the introduction screen, TomTom Navigator will show the Traffic View, explained in the next section. Traffic View The Traffic View presents traffic incidents in a map. To open the Traffic View, open the View Selector by tapping Move around the map in Traffic View the same way as in Map View.

Tapping a traffic icon on the map will display details on the incident. If you have planned a route and tap the Avoid option below the incident details, TomTom Navigator will replan the route avoiding the traffic incident. Avoided incidents are displayed in the map with The bar below the map in Traffic View is the Traffic Ticker.

When navigating, Navigator will inform you on traffic incidents reported on your route. In the Navigator map all traffic incidents on your route are displayed. The Route Scheme on the left side of the screen displays the traffic incidents on your route, and your current position.
When traffic information is available the Traffic Ticker is visible in Navigation View. Playing a sound To avoid traffic incidents: In the navigation menu tap Minimise traffic delays. Navigator will now plan the quickest route taking into account delays caused by traffic jams. Note: Sometimes Minimise traffic delays will guide you through a traffic jam because there is no quicker route circumventing the incident.
Traffic Properties On the Traffic tab of the properties screen, you can customise the traffic features of TomTom Navigator. To open the Traffic tab: In Navigation View tap the centre of the screen to open the navigation menu, then tap Properties In Traffic View select the menu File, then Properties.

When this option is enabled, the Traffic Plug- In will automatically start refreshing traffic information one minute after TomTom Navigator has been started. Updates will stop when TomTom Navigator is exited or the Pocket PC is turned off.
