Software to digitalize and edit your recordings is included: The program WaveLab Lite from
Steinberg is optimized for editing large files and due to its intuitive user interface is also ap-
propriate for beginners. However, customary audio software alone is not completely suitable
for tasks related to sound restoration. In addition to the normal functions like cutting, equaliz-
ing, and level adjustment other options are often needed like "de-hiss", "de-click", or "normali-
zation" as well as expanders or softeners to complete the restoration process. Last but not
least, a CD burning function would also be nice. All of these functions are contained in special-
ized software which you can obtain, for example, from the following leading manufacturers:

Internal access to the input port.

Last but not least, we would like to bring your attention to the internal pins located behind the
input jack. This can be used to divert the audio signal from the jack and alternatively for inter-
nal connections. There are, for example, front modules with control options on the front of the
PC which make use of these connections.
