Set the focus mode lever to AF.S or C.

Autofocus is not locked (focus lock) when
the focus mode is set to AF.C (C). The
camera wilt continue focusing on the subject
while the shutter release button is pressed
halfway. If there is a subject that you wish to
focus on, slide the focus mode tever to AF.S
and use the focus lock. (p.130)
Set the exposure mode to any mode other
than m (Green), B (Bulb) or X (Flash X-
sync Speed).
Only _A (Auto Flash Discharge) and _._
(Auto Flash+Red-eye
Reduction) are
available for the flash mode when the
exposure mode is II
(Green). The flash wilt
not discharge when the subject is bright in
these modes. In the exposure modes other
than II,
only the flash mode that
discharges every time the flash recharges is
available. Try different exposure modes.
Set [USB Connection] to [MSC] in the [_k
Set-up 2] menu. (p.317)
Set [Shake Reduction] to ((4111)) (On) in the
[1_1Rec. Mode 4] menu. (p.140)
If a lens for which the focal length
information cannot be obtained is used, set
the focal length in the [Input Focal Length]
screen. (p.142)
Turn off the Shake Reduction function and
use a tripod.
Move away from the subject, or turn off the
Shake Reduction function and use a tripod.
