Turn on theTV and set it to channel 3 or 4,whicheverchannel
to which the CH3/CH4 switch on the back of theVCR is set.

Turn on the T_.
Insert a tape.
Press the STOP/EJECT but-
ton on theVCR.
Insert a tape in the VCR. The POWER,VCR/'I_, and CST.IN
lights will appear.If the tape's record tab has been removed, play-
back will begin automatically. (Tab details are on page five.)

If playback does not start automatically, press the PLAY
buttopn.

Press the STOP button to stop playback.

Press the REW(ind)
button to rewind the tape.

When the tape has finished rewinding,
press the
STOP/EJECT button on theVCR to remove the tape.

S-VHS Quasi Play Back (SQPB)
ThisVCR has a SQPB function that lets you view a tape recorded
in S-VHS format.A tape recorded in S-VHS format will playthe
same as a tape recorded in normal format
When you play an S-VHS tape, you can not get the picture quality
that would be available on an S-VHSVCR. Noise lines (black and
white streaks) may appear on the picture.
If the tape you want to play is
already in the VCR, make sure the
VCR power is on and the VCR is in
VCR position. (Press the VCR/TV but-
ton so that the VCRITV light
appears.) Then, press the PLAYbut-
ton.

If AUTO REPEATis set to ON, play-
back will begin automatically, even
when the record tab is intact.
