34 Forward andReverse Searching/Pausing
a Picture

During tape playback, press and release the P.FWD button
or the REW(ind)
button, A fast forward or reverse picture
searchwill begin.

To return
to playback, press the PLAY button.

During tape playback, press the F.FWD button or the
RE_/(ind)
button, then press again. The VCR will now search
in super highspeed.

Pausing a Picture

tape playback,
press the PAUSE
button.A

picture
will appear
on the screen.
NOTE : Only tapes recorded in SLP (Super Long Play) speed will show a
clear picture. Each time you press the PAUSEbutton, the noise lines will
change position an the screen.

To release the paused picture and return
to normal play-
back, press the PLAY button.
A paused picture will automaticalOy
switch to Stop mode after five min-
utes to protect the VCR and the
tape from damage.
SP/LP/SLPmeans this feature will
work with tapes recorded in
Standard Play, LongPlay,or Super
Long Play.
LP/SLP means this feature will work
with tapes recorded in LongPlay or
Super Long Play. For details about
tape speed, see page 42.
