Patterns

On the DR-880, 2–4 measures worth of rhythm performance data designed to be played back
repeatedly is called a "pattern."
A pattern has the following structure.

Preset pattern (P001–P500)
Drum part
This is the part that plays drum sounds such as
hi-hat and snare, and percussion sounds such as
cowbell and conga.
Bass part
This is the part that plays the bass sound (bass
tone).
Chord progression
This specifies the chord progression to be used
when playing the bass.
Fill-in
This setting adds a fill-in during performance.
You can choose a fill-in pattern from the fill
library (p. 60) so that a fill-in will play at the
specified location.
Tempo
This specifies the playback tempo of the pattern.
