Blade Control Handle
The blade control handle is located on the upper handle
of the mower. The blade control handle and starter
control button must be depressed in order to operate
the unit. Release blade control handle to stop engine
and blade and to energize the self starter. See Figure
11.
Lower Bail Handle
The lower bail handle is located on the upper handle
and is used to engage the drive. Squeeze the bail
handle against the upper handle to engage the drive;
release it to slow down or stop the mower from
propelling. See Figure 11.
Recoil Starter
he recoil starter is attached to the right lower handle.
The recoil starter is used to start the engine when the
self starter is in the de-energized mode. See.
Cutting Height Adjustment Lever
This lever, located at each wheel, lets you adjust cutting
height of the grass. Remember to put all four levers at
the same height to avoid uneven cut. See Figure 11.
Mulching Plug
Both the mulching baffle and the mulching plug are
used only for mulching purposes. Instead of collecting
the grass clippings in a grass catcher, your mower has
the option of recirculating the clippings back to the
lawn. This is called mulching.
Throttle Speed
Your lawn mower engine is equipped with a constant
speed throttle, which is set at full throttle for best
performance.
