this unit is equipped with safety interlockswitches. These
;afety systems are present for your safety, do not attempt
:o bypass safety switches, and never tamper with safety
Jevices. Check their operation regularly.
Operational SAFETYChecks
Fast1 -- Engine should NOT crank if:
,, PTOswitch is engaged,OR
,, Parking brake is not engaged,OR
,, Ground speed control levers are not in the NEUTRAL
position.
Fast2 -- EngineSHOULDcrank it:
,, PTOswitch is NOT engaged,AND
,, Parking brake is engaged,AND
,, Ground speed control levers are locked in the NEUTRAL
position.
Fast3 -- Engineshould SHUT OFF if:
,, Operator rises off seat with PTOengaged, OR
,, Operator rises off seat with parking brake disengaged.
,, Operator moves ground speed control levers out of
their neutral positions before disengaging parking
brake.
rest 4 -- Blade Brake Check
_ower blades and mower drive belt should come to a
:;omplete stop within seven (7) seconds after electric PTO
;witch is turned off (or operator rises off seat). If mower
Jrive belt does not stop within seven (7) seconds, see your
Jealer.
_IOTE:Once the engine has stopped, PTOswitch must be
turned off, parking brake must be engaged,and the motion
_ontml handles must be locked in the NEUTRALposition
_fter the operator returns to the seat in order to start the
9ngine.

if theunit does not pass a safety test, do not operate
it. See yourauthorized dealer. Underno
circumstanceshould you attempt to defeat the purpose
of the safety interlocksystem.
Safety icons
The alert symbol '_ is used to identitysafety inforrnation
about bazards that can result in personal injury. A signal
word (DANGER,WARNING, or CAUTION)is used witb tbe
alert symbol to indicate the likelihood and the potential
severity of the injury. In addition, a hazardicon may be
used to represent the type of hazard. An explanation of
hazard levels and icons are as follows:
DANGER
This indicates a hazardwhich, if not avoided, will result in
serious injury or death.
,A WARNING
This indicates a hazardwhich, if not avoided, could result in
serial injury or death.
CAUTION
This indicates a hazardwhich, if not avoided, might result in
minor or moderate injury.
CAUTIONor NOTICE
These messages presented without tbe alert symbol indicate
a situation where the unit or property could be damaged.
