DISC PLAY
1. After the disc is installed and the compartment
door closed, the disc will begin to spin and
the player will scan the table of contents en-
coded in the lead-in portion of the disc.
• Duringthis time, *cd" willflash in the display.
2. After the table of contents are read, the disc will
stop spinning.
• "cd" will remain in the DISPLAY but will
stop fleshing.
3. Pressthe PLAY/PAUSEloutton. T he firstselection
(track) on the disc will begin to play.
4. At the beginning of disc play, adjust VOLUME
to suit your listening preference.
5. Switch BASS BOOST and SURROUND "ON" if
desired.
6. At the end of disc play:
+ The player will stop automatically.
• The dash will be displayed.
7. Open the Disc Compartment, remove the disc,
close the Compartment door, and slide
FUNCTION switch to TAPE power Off).
To terminate disc play before the end of the disc is
reached, press the STOP button.
PAUSE FUNCTION
You can temporarilystop disc p_ayduring operation
by pressingthe PLAY/PAUSEbutto_ a second time.
• When PAUSE is activated, the Track number
in play will flesh.
To resume play, press PLAY/PAUSE again.
SKIP/SEARCH
BUTI'ONS
During disc PLAY and STOP modes, you can skip
forward or backward to the beginning of any
selection on the disc by using the SKIP buttons.
FORWARD SKIP (IH_)
Momentarily press the FORWARD SKIP/SEARCH
button to instantly move to the beginning of the
next selection on the disc. To "skip" to a selection
further down the disc, repeatedly press and releese
the button until the desired Track Number appears
in the DISPLAY.When the last selection on the disc
is reached, skip will return to the beginningof the
first Track on the disc.
FORWARD SEARCH (IH_)
During Disc PLAY,pressingand holding the FOR-
WARD SKIP/SEARCH button enables you to speed
up disc play (fast forward).The disc materialwill be
audible, allowing you to scan for a favoritesegment
or skip a segment. Release the button and normal
PLAY resumes.
REVERSE SKIP (_)
Momentarily press the REVERSE SKIP/SEARCH
button to instantly move to the beginning of the
Trackbeingplayed.To "skip"backwardto a selection
further up the disc, repeatedly press and release
the button untilthe desired Track Number appears
in the Display.
When the beginningof the first Track on the disc is
reached, skip will go back to the beginning of the
lest Track on the disc.
REVERSE SEARCH ( <k< )
During Disc PLAY, pressing and holding the
REVERSE SKIP/SEARCH button enables you to
move quickly backward. The disc material will be
heard in reverse play, enabling you to select a
segmentto be listened to again. Releasethe button
and normal PLAY will resume.
You can also use SKIP when disc play is in the
PAUSE mode. Upon completion of SKIP,the player
will return to the PAUSE mode.
REPEAT BUTTON
Press the REPEAT button for repeated play of all
Tracks on the disc.
• The REPEAT INDICATOR will light when
REPEATmode is activated.
PressingREPEATbutton againcancels Repeat play
and normal play resumes from the Track currently
in play.
SHUFFLE
BUTTON
Press the SHUFFLE button and then the PLAY
button for automatic random play of all the Tracks
on the disc.
• The SHUFFLE INDICATOR will light when
SHUFFLE mode is activated.
• Random segments of the DISPLAY will flesh
while SHUFFLE selects the track for play.
PressingSHUFFLE again cancels Shuffle play and
normal play resumes from the Track currently in
play.
