PICTURE SEARCH OPTIONS
The most basic way to search during playback is using the
fOF_Jard
or reverse
function.
This section contains several other
options available for searching a tape.
FORWARD AND REVERSE SEARCH
You can view a tape during play or play pause. Sound isturned
off during picture search. Search works best for tapes recorded at
the SLPspeed.
1. Press FWD to search forward or REV to search in reverse.
2. Press FWD or REV again or press PLAY on the remote
(PLAyopAUSE on the VCR) to return to normal playback.
SLOW MOTION
You can view a tape during play or play-pause using slow
motion. Search works best for tapes recorded at the SLPspeed.
1. PressSLOW on the remote to begin slow motion playback.
2. Use TRACK up or down to remove any streaks from the
picture.
3. From PAUSE mode, use FWD and REV to speed up or slow
down slow motion playback.
4. Press PLAY on the remote (PLAYoPAUSEon the VCR) to return
to normal playback.
The VCR switches automatically from slow-motion playback
to stop after a few minutes.
COMMERCIAL SCAN (SEARCH BU'III"ON)
This is useful for skipping commercials or short program
segments.
• PressSEARCH once during playback to advance the tape
approximately 30 seconds.
• Each press of the SEARCH button adds an additional 30
seconds, up to 5 minutes.
