Universal
Remote
The universal renlote can be progranmled
to operate most brands of
remote conmfllable
VCRs, satellite receivers and cable boxes. Tile remote
is already programmed
to control most RCA, Proscan, and GE VCRs and
satellite receivers.
The A[X
button
can be programmed
to operate
a cable
box, most
RCA,
GE and
Proscan
audio
components,
a htserdisc
player,
or a VCR.
Note: The TV and DVD buttons cannot be programmed.
Test the Remote
To determine
whether tile universal remote needs to be programmed,
turn a component
ON, such as a VCR. Point tile remote at tile VCR, and
press tile VCR1 button. Then press ON-OFF
or CH + (channel
up) or
CH -(dmnnel
down) to see if tile VCR responds
to lhe remote
commands.
If file component
does not respond,
tile remote needs to be
programmed.
Program the Remote
There
are
two
ways
to program
the
remote
controh

Automatic
Code Search
The lkJlowing instructions
can be used to program
tile remote to operale
each of tile components
connected
to your TV/DVD. If you want to exit
tile automatic
code search without programming
any of your
components,
press CLEAR until tile light on file remole turns off.
Turn on tile component
you want to operate (VCR, etc.)

Press and hold
tile component
button
you want
to program
(VCR1,
VCR2, etc.). While
holding
tile component
buuon,
press
and hold
ON •OFF
until tile light on tile remote
turns
on, then
release
both
btiltons.

Point tile remote at tile COlnponent. Press and release PLAY, then wait
5 seconds
or until tile light on tile remote stops flashing.
At tiffs point tile remote is searching
tk)r tile correct code to program.
If, at_er 5 seconds, tile component
you ,,,,.ant to operate
does not turn
off, press PLAY again to tell tile remote to search tile nexl set of
codes.
Continue pressing PLAY until tile component
turns off or you have
searched
through all of tile codes. There are 20 total sets of codes. If
tile component
does not mm off after pressing PLAY 20 times, then
tile remote cannot can't be programmed
lo operate
that component.
