AFTER,WHICHAREUSEDIN CALiFORNiA,AND TO CERTiFiEDMODELYEAR2005 AND LATERENGINESWHICHAREPURCHASED AND
USEDELSEWHERE IN THE UNITEDSTATES.

The CaliforniaAir ResourcesBoard(CARB),U. S. EPAand MTDare pleasedto explainthe emissionscontrolsystemwarrantyon yourmodelyear
2006 and latersmall off-roadengine.In California,newsmalloff-roadenginesmustbe designed,built and equippedto meetthe Statesanti-smog
standards.Elsewherein the UnitedStates,newnon-road,spark-ignition enginescertifiedfor model2005 and later,mustmeet similarstandardsset
forth by the U. S. EPA.MTDmustwarrantytheemissioncontrol systemon yourenginefor the period of time listedbelow,providedtherehas been
no abuse,neglector impropermaintenance of your smalloff-roadengine.
Youremissioncontrolsystemmay includeparts suchas the carburetor,fuel-injectionsystem,the ignitionsystem,and catalyticconverter, f uel
tanks,fuel lines,fuel caps,valves,canisters,filters, vaporhoses,clamps,connectors,and otherassociatedemission-related components.
Wherea warrantable conditionexists,MTDwill repairyour smalloff-roadengineat no cost to yourincludingdiagnosis,parts and labor.
MANUFACTURER'S
WARRANTY COVERAGE:
This emissionscontrolsystemis warrantedfor two years.If anyemission-related parton your engineis defective,the partwill be repairedor
replacedby MTD.
OWNER'S WARRANTY
RESPONSIBILITIES:
As the smalloff-roadengineowner,youare responsible for the performance of the requiredmaintenancelistedin yourOwner'sManual.MTD
recommends that you retainall your receiptscoveringmaintenances on yoursmall off-roadengine,but MTDcan notdenywarrantysolely for the
lack of receiptsor for yourfailureto ensurethe performanceto all scheduledmaintenance.
As the smalloff-roadengineowner,youshouldhoweverbe awarethat MTDmaydenyyour warrantycoverageif yoursmall off-roadengineor part
hasfaileddue to abuse,neglect,impropermaintenance or unapprovedmodifications.
Youare responsible for presentingyoursmalloff-roadengineto an AuthorizedMTDServiceDealeras soonas a problemexists.The warranted
repairsshouldbe completedin a reasonableamountof time,notto exceed30 days.

DEFECTS WARRANTY
REQUIREMENTS
FOR 1995 AND LATER SMALL OFF=ROAD ENGINES:
This sectionappliesto 1995and latersmalloff-roadengines.Thewarrantyperiod beginson the datetheengine or equipmentis deliveredto an
ultimatepurchaser.
(a) GeneralEmissions WarrantyCoveracj#_
MTDmustwarrantto the ultimatepurchaserand eachsubsequentpurchaserthat the engineis:
(1) Designed,built,and equippedso as to conformwith all applicableregulations adoptedbythe Air Resources Boardpursuantto its authorityin
Chapters1 and 2,Part 5, Division26 of the Healthand SafetyCode;and
(2) Freefrom defectsin materialsand workmanship that causethe failureof a warrantedpartto be identicalin all materialrespectsto the part as
describedin the enginemanufacturer's applicationfor certificationfor a periodof two years.
.(b)The warrantyon emissions-related partswill be interpreted as follows:
(1) Anywarrantedpart that is not scheduledfor replacementas requiredmaintenancein the writteninstructionsrequiredby Subsection(c)
mustbe warrantedfor the warrantyperioddefinedin Subsection(a)(2). If anysuch partfails during the periodof warrantycoverage,it mustbe
repairedor replacedby MTDaccordingto Subsection(4) below.Any such partrepairedor replacedunderthewarrantymustbe warrantedfor
the remainingwarrantyperiod.
(2) Any warrantedpartthat is scheduledonlyfor regularinspectionin the writteninstructionsrequiredby Subsection(c) mustbe warrantedfor
thewarrantyperioddefinedin Subsection(a)(2).A statementin such writteninstructionsto the effect of "repairor replaceas necessary"will
not reducethe periodof warrantycoverage.Anysuch part repairedor replacedunderwarrantymustbe warrantedforthe remainingwarranty
period.
(3) Anywarrantedpartthat whichis scheduledfor replacement a s requiredmaintenance in the writteninstructionsrequiredby Subsection(c)
mustbe warrantedfor the periodof time prior to the first scheduledreplacementpointfor that part. If the partfails prior to the first scheduled
replacement, t he part mustbe repaired or replacedby MTDaccordingto Subsection(4) below.Any such part repairedor replacedunder
warrantymustbe warrantedfor the remainderof the period priorto thefirst scheduledreplacement p ointfor the part.
